Back to Back Theatre: Community Filmmaking Practice
What happens when filmmaking, design and community come together?
Join us for a panel discussion exploring our community filmmaking practice and the important role of design in our creative process.
As part of Geelong Design Week, Back to Back Theatre will join acclaimed filmmaker Miranda Nation for Community Filmmaking Practice, a conversation exploring the philosophy of creation and design, alongside access and inclusion. The session will look at how collaborative, community-led approaches shape work, how costumes, props and recycled materials help create the film’s world, and how design can support diverse voices and create more inclusive screen experiences.
Back to Back Theatre has created a number of screen works, including their most recent work Agincourt, filmed in North Geelong using largely recycled materials. Miranda Nation has collaborated with Back to Back Theatre on a number of projects, and is currently working with Back to Back Theatre’s THEATRE OF SPEED on a new screen work.
