PORTRAIT PARTICIPANT CONSENT

Great news! Your young person has been selected by the school staff to be a part of the PORTRAIT Project working with Back to Back Theatre during term 2, 2025.

WHAT IS BACK TO BACK THEATRE?
It is an international theatre company based in Geelong that makes work through the hearts and minds of people with disability, this includes schools, professional actors and community groups. Our Education Programs are important to our work. We strongly encourage you to look at our website for a full suite of screen and digital projects

WHAT IS PORTRAIT?
Back to Back Theatre, will research and experiment portraits with the students. We will create photographic portraits of ourselves and the others in the group. The photos will be part of a digital and/or film exhibition created by/and featuring the students. What has theatre got to do with portraiture? When you pose for a photo, you are performing a version of yourself.

WHEN DOES THIS TAKE PLACE?
Portrait will take place in Term 2, 2025. One double session (two periods) workshop per week at YOUR school on a WEDNESDAY. There will be a sharing of portraits in term 3 to families and the school community.

Two excursions to Back to Back for photo shoot is on 18 June and 2 July 2025.

WHAT DO THE STUDENTS NEED TO BRING?
The students may be asked to bring some items from home for the photo shoots, the school will let you know what these are.

WHO ARE WE WORKING WITH?
We are only working with a selection of girls from your school on this project, a maximum of 10 young women.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?
To introduce students to the creative industries, broaden their scope on performance and encourage independence, confidence and team building, and much much more.

WHAT DOES IT COST? Nothing, this is a fully funded project by Back To Back Theatre.

By signing below I understand what this project is about and agree to be part of it. I give permission for Back to Back Theatre to work with the young person named on this form and to take their photo. I agree that these photos can be used for things like exhibitions, websites, press releases, talks, books, magazines, journals and theses related to this project. I understand the name written on this form may be used, and that I will be able to see the images at a school showing. I agree and give my consent by signing this form.. Information we collect and hold is kept in accordance with Information Privacy Laws.  We will use our best endeavours to keep the information accurate, up to date and securely handled, and protect the information from misuse and unauthorised access.
