Back to Back Theatre is recruiting for a new female actor in the company. We make contemporary theatre imagined from the hearts and minds of an ensemble of actors who are perceived to have an intellectual disability.

The successful applicant will be a woman who has an intellectual disability. Given the charter of the theatre, these requirements are necessary to maintain the credibility and authenticity of our productions, and is permissible pursuant to section 26(3) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

About the Job:

Back to Back Theatre’s core group of actors – our ensemble – is based and makes work in Geelong. The ensemble also spends extended periods touring. Working with the Artistic Director and Guest Artists, the ensemble makes new works of contemporary theatre through a creative process that includes improvisation and experimentation. Ensemble members then rehearse and perform these works in Australia and around the world.
